    Royal Airforce Gun Camera ?

I went to look this morning at what I had been told was a training Machine Gun. I am fairly sure it is a type of Air Ministry Gun Camera, but know nothing about it, nor have seen one before. I would like to know what time period it was used, its purpose and on what Aircraft. I do not know if it is missing any components, though it looks to be fairly complete. An approximate value would be helpful as well. Many thanks, Clive.

Many thanks for the excellent link. It seems there are a few parts missing, Grips, Rear Sight and Lens Cover, Front Sight and Film Magazine. I need to come-up with a value? I have also been sent the interesting attached image. Regards, Clive.

Out of interest, the Royal Flying Corps in WW1 used gun cameras for training. I wonder if they were similar? The Lewis gun was standard RFC issue.

                      Regards,
                      Bob.

An earlier WW1 pattern Bob I believe is the Thornton-Packard Mfr Co Hythe Gun Camera, used by both the British and Americans. Attached are a couple of images I found on the WWW. Regards, Clive.
