Hi Schönbeck, my knowledge of aircraft related items is slim (to no exsistant
)so I cannot tell you what exactly the Compass is for. But if it is an RAF item it will be marked with a Crown over the letters "AM" for "Air Ministry". I would also expect to see a serial number and a stock code.

My aircraft knowledge is limited as well, but I agree that it should have the AM mark. Also, I would think that the compass would be more precise if it were in a bomber. Perhaps this came from a vehicle of sorts?
