Help with British helmet

I have this British helmet with the following stamps: 3S and underneath BB and next to it I 1938. Where the chinstrap is attached it says II 1938 and the liner says 7 VERO I 1938

Who can tell where this helmet comes from? I once heard BB was a Dutch maker but where these made for the British and Commonwealth or...? Any help in clearing this up would be very mych appreciated!!

It's a british made MKII helmet.
JSS stands for Joseph Sankey & Sons (Bilston) produced in 1938.

That's a nice looking early Mk II helmet. Good 1938 dates too, and the liner looks to be original and in good condition. This shade of 'eggshell' green paint also looks correct for a pre-war British helmet.

The only thing which is unlikely to be original to the helmet is the net. It looks authentic but is too pristine and doesn't sit right on the shell. It seems to be a mid or late war net, almost certainly added later on for effect or display.

Thanks for the feedback! I actually expected the net not to be original to the helmet. It never really fitted well indeed...still I always left it on since I haven't have another British helmet yet which I can try it on

But what does the BB mean? I always thought this was some kind of Dutch makers mark?!?

The BB is just the steel batch number, nice helmet

BB in dutch means "burger bescherming".
In english it is civilian protection a kind of home guard.
But BB on this helmet is just the steel badge number like Tinlid said.
