Any ideas on this insignia on this helmet?

Hi Peter,

It is the British 1st Corps formation sign. I am unsure if it is original to the helmet.

1st Corps wore that badge as a cloth badge during II, the corps was disbanded after the war & reformed with the same badge sometime during the '50s.

I'll see if I can get any other photos. This helmet belongs to a friend. I mentioned to him how we use to see so many plain British helmets...and now we see more with insignia!

To me, it looks like sellotape has been used to mask the borders of the red diamond. Very suspect looking...
