    yet another, British Paratrooper helmet

it's a BMB 1944 and the size stated is a huge, if possible, 8 and 3/4! the seller claims it is all original, including the net and camo strips. please tell me what you think. thank you

I would say he's telling the truth, but I would advise you to get other photos and opinions.

Looks like it might be a superb helmet.

      Paint

Looks like it might have its original paintwork too,not a repaint job as is often seen. Pics without the netting and a look at the screw heads at the back would really be helpful, but I agree it has a really good chance. Massive size, mind you it fits him well

Agree with SMP and Grip on getting better pictures of this helmet, but based on what these pictures tell me I would say we are looking at a near mint little beauty.

No paint on screws and seems original color olive drab paint on in- and outside. Chalking marks and correct crown pad; dark fittings on the straps and good looking clean and correctly stamped liner, right black foam inside and even the net looks as an original early type net. It should and I think it has a single screw center rear; not sure of this though on seeing this picture.

Anyway a very nice helmet and indeed great size too

Thats indeed a minty unissued BMB 1944 as far as I can see by the new leather sweatband, congrats!

I recently found in the woodwork a scruffy original worn & issued one here in Holland. Its a BMB aswell but dated 1943 (!) also with the canvas straps!
A very early one! Most probably used during market garden as it came from that area and never was in collectors hands before!
(These mkll were already used on D-day but also by some Poles in Holland in Sept 1944)

Nice catch if you love mint GB para pots!

              Mint Para Helmets

Not all helmets acquired by the Aussies were converted HSAT or MK I, they also got a bunch of the MK II's. I had a few from Aussie land when they were cheap that were in this exact condition. All types non-converted to web and the MK II. So it may have originated there.
