WW2 Wool battledress in tropical countries?

Dear list.

I think I am taking a long shot here. But anyone has any idea if WW2 British BDs were used / worn in countries like Malaya, Singapore etc?

I know the heat would be a factor and that there were the Aertex shirts but would like to seek any info possible.

Very commonly seen in the desert & Italy and very likely the same for the far east, IMO.
