    1942 Sheffield Stilletto Fighting Knife

    Hello everyone,
I recently got this knife, but am having a hard time finding another one just like it. Can anyone tell me the history of it? Who was it issued to, etc? I would love to find out more on this particular example. Thanks a lot!!

          Hi,
Imo it's not any sort of issue knife, it's made up from bits and there still doing them ,I see them all the time around Sheffield ,they made radom knives up then and still do them.

The broad arrow seems to be made with a chisel rather than a one piece punch. 1960s made IMO. 21st. century enhancement.

Agree with comments made. This is not a Military issue Knife and was readily available to the public. In having said that you do hear of examples having been bought privately and used during the war. This Knife may have some age, however the date and WD markings are fairly recent additions IMO. Regards, Clive.

Have the exact same knife at home. Never seen a dated or Broad-arrowed one so someone it up to no good.

Excellent knife but like the others say never an issue item, Would not be out of place though on a bos'n, belt now or at the time.

You could see the odd Tommy with one as well as they are dame good knives.

I would have to agree with some of the other chaps,

looks like a knock up job mate from the far out 60's
