Recently been given an old blue tunic.
Not really my forte this but judging by the buttons and their spacing I'm sure it a post war coldstream guards tunic.
If this 'dress no1' blues tunic, It's got a drum in bullion wire on the sleeve but none of the usual 'swallows nest' stuff you often see on bandsmens tunics.
Not something I really know anything about so advice on era, value, use etc appreciated.
The liner to the stand up collar is badly worn, it's had the breast buttons replaced at some point. It's missing the lowest central button. It has *no* markings whatsover inside.
Originally it came from a fancy dress hire shop, while i'm certian it's guards due to the spacing the staybrights might not be original and my friend has a rom ful of various tunics from the shop and most have had replacement sets of incongruous buttons put on at some point.
I'm afraid the flash has bleached out the colour a bit but its a sort of 'midnight blue' in daylight, almost black.
