    Question for Kiwis

Few years ago I bought ww2 britsh canteen with cover and carrying straps (cork is rubber). After I removed the cover I found the business card, where is written:

    Manufactured by
    The National NEECO Electrical
    and Engineering Company Limited
    Wellington, New Zealand

Do you know more about this company?
Is it common to find manufacturer's card under the cover?

I boutht canteen in Poland, shop got it from Germany, German wholesaler had it from Israel.

    Thanks for your help

Hi Mietek, I have an identical canteen in my collection. A whole load of them appeared on the surplus market about 6 or 7 years ago now? They were priced at £1.50 back then. Needless to say, the speciallised WW2 dealers bought them and bumped the price up 4 times; now they seem to have dried up.

    Cheers, Ade.

Hi Adrian. Thanks again for your help!!!

So looks, that these canteens are popular. I didn't expect it. However it was nice surprise for me to find that card.

True, I paid for it two times more than 1,5 £, I think it was around 5-6 years ago, but I'm not sure.

      Best regards
