WW2 hockey

Hello All
This might seem a little off topic but I have been running in circles trying to get any info.
My uncle was a corperal with the Algonquin Regt of Can. Mervyn L. Broughton.
Among his keepsakes is a small hockey medalion that is inscribed as follows.
4th Canadian Armoured Div. N.E Europe hockey champions 1945. I would like to know if there is anywhere I can look for info or pictures that might show the teams that played ,where and when. I think they would be military teams not national teams.

Check the Algonquin War Diary. I recall reading the Irish Regtl War Diary it mentioned scores of the baseball games they played in and who they played.

The Diaries are held at the National Library and Archives Canada in Ottawa. The Regiment may also hold a copy of the Diary.

I have an application in to the Archives in Ottawa to get his records so its a waiting game right now. There is a book that documents the regiments story during the war called "Warpath" I will have to try and find a copy.

Hockey

There are photos of hockey games being played in Canada and overseas but I do not recall seeing anything specific to 4th Cdn Armd div. I copied pretty well every photo in the DND collection. Lots of sports meet stuff showing different units in track and field but little hockey. Usually you see photos of the games that went on between services not as much sub-units.
