What kind of parachute is this? Opinions wanted!

    Hello!

This parachute came along. Could it be an Allied (British, Canadian or American?) parachute of the Second World War? There is a faint ink stamp (a cirkel with the number 4 in it and some letters, but they are very faint).
There are also some hooks with it. On this hooks stays SOS and HCOL P71.
    See the pictures.

There is also a "little parachute" with it. What is this?

                        Hi Frans,

I don't know if it is wartime or not but it is certainly a nice looking parachute for equipment dropping

It is most likely to be a parachute for something like a wicker pannier or a larger metal dropping container.

                        Thanks from Jack.

Hi Frans, I am not certain what the 'chute is; but I can tell you that it would be for supplies and not a man. It is certainly not the type used on the wartime "CLE" drop cannister. The white webbing straps are of the type used in WW2.

                          Sorry I cannot help further.

                          Cheers, Ade.

Thanks Jack and Ade of your comments

So, this is a parachute from World War 2 and was used to drop supplies. At least this is something. Does anyone else know more about this parachute?
                            All opinions are welcome.

                            Thanks

                            Frans

Hi Frans, I would not go as far to say it is 100% British WW2. The materials used are similar, but were also used on post war made items too. The little 'chute you enquired about would deploy first and would asssist the main 'chute in opening.

                              Cheers, Ade.
