A winged Admiralty Crown? I'd say a fantasy piece. Never seen anything like it - although it could be one of those wierd jobbies worn by prospective Fleet Air Arm cadets who've soloed at UOTC.
The University Air Squadrons (RAFVR) issue a shytehawk to officer cadets who've soloed. This isn't an RAF pilot's wing per se, but rather a token of recognition that the individual has completed the ab initio course. The still have to go through the mill at Cranwell and the flying schools regardless. I'll see if I can find a piccie.
