hello guys. i just purchased a 1907 wilkinson hooked quillon bayonet from a local antiques store. i did some research and could figure out only the basics.
-manufactured in june 1909
-british military acceptance mark [broad arrow]
-X with vertical line through on pommel designating sold out of service.
my questions are. what does the AUSTRALIA stamped on the handle signify?
and what does V3010 stamped on the side of the crossguard mean?
there are no other marks on the bayonet regarding regiment or Australian acceptance, which leaves me confused.
thank you in advance
tony
