WWII Parachute Regiment Cap Badges

Can anybody tell me what type of fitting was used on Parachute Regiment cap badges? I have heard that only lug and pin type fittings were used and that slider fittings are all post-war. Is this the case?

Hi Ciaran,

Both lug and slider Parachute Regiment cap badges were used during the war. However, the majority of re-strikes about are those with sliders. Finding an original cap badge with a slider on is quite difficult...

I believe also that the majority of Parachute Regiment soldiers wore cap badges with lugs on during the war as opposed to ones with sliders on.

Jacks right. If you find a Para badge with a slider on beware! Also watch out for the flaw to the left wing on the re-strikes.

The right wing looks to have a dent in but apart from that would you say it was an original?

Hi Ciaran,

The cap badge is original and I believe it is the type with lugs.

The seller is very reputable so there is no need to worry. I buy alot of my stuff from him
