I don't know very much about these patches, but it is not similar to any WW2 which I have seen.

Fairly certain that 4th Armoured Brigade patch was not issued in printed form, I have only seen original embroidered on felt and silk woven types

I'm with Lee on this one. Also, printed insignia are normally a bit more detailed.

They do look very modern, not WWII. Not my field at all, the British ist Armoured Division, active in the Balkans, Kuwait, etc etc still use the name "Desert Rats" and I believe I've seen photos of the sign on their vehicles in Iraq or Afghanistan, so I'd guess these are fairly modern patches for that formation.
