British helmet, air raid warden used?

This helmet has 3 holes stamped out near the chinstrap rivet. I heard that meant it was not authorized for military use, but only for air raid warden use. Is that correct? Or are they helmets issued to civilians? Here's the helmet in question. Is there any value in these? Thanks guys!

Here's the stamp on the rim opposite of the 3 holes.

It's a MkII No.2C, 3 holes in the brim, & only for use on the home front.
For people like wardens, GPO, Repair Partys, FAP & the like.
Maker of the shell Joseph Sankey & Sons, any makers stamp/date on the liner?

Looks like size 7, under that is a "P" and 1941. Any value here?

I thought they normally had the 3 holes on both sides . Its a nice helmet you could get anything from £20 - £40 on ebay . Rob

I expect it's L.P.C, a little known liner maker, I have a picture of one & that's dated 1941 too.

Rob is right, you can pick these up for £30 all day at most uk militaria shows

Thanks much guys! The seller is being overly optimistic expecting $90 for it I'm afraid. I think he believes it is a combat helmet and not a "home front" item.
