Nice catch, the price is OK. I never saw one on black, only the red ones.
These I got about 10 Years ago in the original Packs of 10 for about 5 Euro per pack. Sadly the guy dissapeared after his wife died and now I have to buy them for the real Prices.
BTW: it's called "Badge Qualification. Army. Recruiters." and used not only by Sergeants. I remember an ex Gordons Cpl. at the Recruiters Office in Glasgow some Years ago, wearing this Patch on a Brassard.
He wore the new RRS Stuff but his old Gordons Tartan Belt on Woodland DPM.

Your's looks like a QE II Period to me so something between 1952 and maybe early 80's.

Def post 1953 with QEII crown. Check out some pics on the forum or online and compare the Victorian crown with the QEII crown, they are different.

If my memory doesn't jokes me it is the St. Edward Crown, but as it was a very heavy crown, Elisabeth uses a lighter Version of it. The St. Edward crown was made in 1661 and has nothing to do with King Edward as it was used over centuries. It is used through most of the coronation ceremony and is said to be made of the melted gold from King Alfred's Crown. It is noted by a number of British monarchs to be extremely heavy and difficult to wear.
