    BURMA STAR.Good or fake?

    Hello.
    Athough my main interest is german medals, I bought this Burma Star at Gibraltar some time ago.
    I need your help about it, its good or fake?

    the ribbon is UV negative.

      Looks good to me but the ribbon is for the defence medal.
      Are there marks on the side of the arms?

          All good stars have marks on the side, so look again. Some have more visible marks then others, but there should be some marks otherwise you are in trouble.

          It´s hard to take good pics of them but i hope you understand what i mean, it almost like there are 2 different layers.

              It has been my observation that all period stars (Except the Air Crew Europe)
              Have the rear outermost edges bevelled, any without this are, IMHO, more modern issues.

                    I seem to remember somewhere some time ago, where people were suggesting that those with the shear marks and these marks were faked Hogwash.

                    I have a few issued immediate post war to 2 relatives that had the same shear markings. 100% a-ok.
