Australian unit patches ID

Which Australian unit wore these patches in WW2 ?
and which Theatre of operations? Pacific?
or Western desert?

If Western desert ;
were these worn on a UK style Battle Dress uniform perhaps?
or strictly on Aussi pattern 4 pocket tunics?

OK I found the answer... = 6th division, western desert..(Tobruk)
Is this a battle dress uniform? (British or NZ supplied perhaps?)

These badges were NEVER worn on any uniform. I believe they are a phantasy fake piece.

Divisional insignia was never placed on uniforms. The badge was only painted on vehicles etc.

Unit colour patches were worn on uniforms. These are not colour patches.

I agree these patches definately were NEVER worn by Australians, however they were actually made, If they ARE real they were made in England and were intended to be worn by the Australians who were serving in Nth Africa, thats why you only ever see them for the 6th 7th and 9th divisions.

Interesting feedback. No wonder I can't find period images of such patches being worn. Makes sense this explanation
that these were most likely made in England as Divisional patches (per British standards), intended for Australian troops serving in Africa,
but never adopted.

Yeah pretty much, heres pics of the other two patches, theyre not mine but just pictures I have found on the net. The Kookaburra patch is cool although it looks nothing like a real kookaburra or the 7ths divisional sign either.

Since a Year or so, we have a Paki guy running around on German Shows, buying everything nice and a Show Later he's offering them in a nice handmande quality on his stand. Maybe they also found some Pics and thought they're nice.

Yes the ones pictured I posted are of fake ones being sold on ebay. But I have seen a real set before, I dont know how many were made or when but as far as I know some were made and intended to be issued and worn but it never happened.
