Could this be a WW1 British steel Helmet?? Not my area so advice requested,please.

The 3 holes in the rim suggest a South African origin for this helmet. Can you post better pics of the strap mounts please. Near the mounts might be a makers mark and date.

Hi Bob,

I cannot check on pics if that one is "raw edge" (MKI WWI) but it doesn't looks...
It seams to be a South African WWII MKII shell with its 3 caracteristic holes on back skirt to attached neck sun-protection part...imho.

(not the sames 2x3 holes than on sides of civil defense British helmets)
