    Picked this up today, 1948 pattern, i was thinking maybe 43rd Infantry ??

    Cant seem to find a referance to the patch on the net, i am thinking post war 43rd Infantry ??

      More likely to be Army Cadet Force, the chevrons are of the 1960 pattern. ACF book not at hand. The chevrons are also too far down the sleeves.

            I agree - no Senior NCO that I know would ever wear such badly applied stripes either!

                  Shoulder titles

                  Post #2 shows previously removed shoulder titles.

                  Hold it up to the light, looking from the inside, there may have been other badges between the stripes and crest.

                    There was no 1948 Pattern. The basic woolen BD were the original Blouses, Serge (erroneously referred to as P37); P40 (which was the P37 with minor changes -- primarily a drill lining in the collar and pockets moved slightly); P40 Economy Pattern (exposed buttons and loss of pocket pleats, etc); P46 (Economy pattern with pleats added to pockets, etc), P47 (open lapel which could be worn open/closed to throat), and P49 (collar open all the time)
