    Latest Score

Gday all, thought I'd share my latest score with you. My uncle got it from the vets family and passed it onto me (he got a uniform ), I'm told he served in ww1 and was at Gallipoli, whether this was with him I dont know. There are couple small moth holes and minor repairs but you cant complain when it was free!
    Cheers Brad

Really? I checked some books I had this morning and they seemed to be carrying identical ones to this in ww1, did they use the same type through till then or has my unle pulled my leg?

          Water bottles used

These type were used WW1 right through till the M56 became standard in the Australian Army, and were kept in "War Stocks" long after that.

My Dad was issued British M44 pattern webbing in Malaysia 1955, and on return to Australia, re issued P37 webb gear in 1958.

          Regards Graham.

Looks typical WW1 period waterbottle in Blue enamel with the concave top . I do believe the later bottles had a flatter top . So I would definitely say WW1 . Rob
