    WWII British waterbag?

    Hi chaps,

This was offered to me, a British WWII african army water bag. I can see myself that it is a water bag and probably British, but is is military, is it WWII and is it from the Brits in Africa? Also, what is a normal price for such a thing? Thanks in advance!

I waould surmize that between the lack of a Broad Arrow proff mark and the cartoon like camel on the back side, that this is not military, but rather a commercial piece.
I would not call it "military" nor do I think it is all that old. I would not put much of a value on the piece.

Thanks Allan! I can't say for the age, but the "Made in..." and the camel really do not fit in the picture of something military

Well, the Empire is being destroyed from inside, yourselves you miss putting "Great" on your products! Sabotage elements in the waterbag industry! Plovdiv, that hilly village? Those miserables got the football cup. Oh well maybe this keeps the interest, it will be boring if my favorites are always the first

Hi Theodor, the bag is certainly not military.

As to "Great Britain" I still use the term, (see my profile) well I can dream can't I ?

              Cheers, Ade.

I have the exact american duplicate of this, called a "Desert Water Bag". Way back in the '50s, when we would drive out west on vacation,it was common to see these bags hanging on the front grill of cars. The wind and evaporation would keep the water cool for drinking.

                    Wow!
Was that during the Great Depression when you were on your way to California with Woddy Guthrie?
Sorry, the image of these on the car grills made me think of "the Grapes of Wrath" or maybe the "Beverly Hillbillies."
