Hi everyone,
Could we please start a thread on Raf/commonwealth flight wings.How to tell origonals from repros ,different styles of manufacture etc?
I have my grandfathers canadian made NZ pilots wings and it has got me interested but this is way out of my field of knowledge(which is NZ Boer War )

Here are a lovely pair of padded Air Gunner wings on a WW2 RAAF F/Sergeant's tunic ... however I know little technical detail on these wings ... other than being another minefield for collectors.

does the light blue wreath mean Aussie?

My nz pilot wing are chocolate brown.(I have no idea if this means anything!?!?)
