WW2 Czechs IN RAF Shoulder Patch?

Wasn't sure whether to put this in "British" or "International" for Steven. All he sent me is the front, so can't show the back side.

Is this a WW2 period original?

I've never seen this type in photos before, looks awfully new.

Hi Rick, can't say I have ever seen it either? I have only seen the familar "Czechoslovakia" shoulder titles in RAF blue/grey.

      Cheers, Ade.

I'd imagine that anything wartime would say 'Czechoslovakia' rather than just 'Czech'.

Also I've heard that some modern Czech uniforms are turning up in surplus shops badged up in English. Presumably so us uneducated NATO allies can read them!

          patch

          Hello all,
as Alex said during the war it would have been Czechoslovakia not Czech as well as looking it was made yesterday.
          Cheers Jack(Rob)

Hello Gentlemen, my Uncle served with the RAF 311 Squadron and was killed on 29 June 1944. We have all his pictures and a few uniform peices that were returned to him. I have never seen this type of patch before. WIll take a few pics of the uniform items I have.
Here is a link to an excellent site that a young Czech man has researched on the Czechoslovakian Airmen. I agree with Ade that although there were Czechs and Slovaks, they represented their country as a whole, and I could not see an official flash like this being sanctioned. JMO. Take care,

            Joe
