    Relic British Helmet

Here is an interesting relic helmet. It was found, along with an Italian paratrooper helmet that I posted in the Fj section, near the Ramcke fighting posotions at El Alamein.

John-did the liner or strap survive in any shape?

      Hi Adam,

Sadly nothing survived of the liner or strap. The helmet was upside down in the sand for almost 50 years. Note the tan part of the brim, that was protruding from the sand and exposed to the elements and rusted less. Here is the interior.

      John

Nice lid and even nicer to see the desert camo still there - if thats what it is?

        Thanks from Jack.

          Greetings Jack,

I wish that was some remaining desert camo paint, but it is not, it is fine North African sand embedded in the rust were the brim was exposed.

          Regards,
          John
