    Opinion needed on foldeable bed, chair and officers gear

    Hello,

    I need some opinions on this British foldeable bed and chair, found as such.

    Apparently complete with mousquito net and carrying bag.

    Also officers shoes and boots, webbing belt and shoulder straps.

    Everything is nicely stamped (1944) and named to the guy. All gear in mint condition.

    Could this belong to officers desert equipment?

            That's a nice collection of officers camping gear, being dated 44 to late for the desert. These would have been used in Europe as well.

                  The shoulder boards with rank badges look like khaki drill material, so perhaps this officer served in the North African campaign. It seems consistent with the khaki webbing, at least I believe it wasn't blancoed green in Africa?

                    Just because the African campaign was over does not mean all British troops left Africa. He could have easily been stationed there later in the war or in the post war period.
