Help with positive ID on this holster

Hello forum friends.

I am just looking to see if anyone else may know exactly what pistol this holster is for, or if anyone has a photo of these in use, as I can only guess.

Wrap type closure and expanding barrel area with an internal leather cleaning rod holder. Belt loop and hooks on the back. 8 inches across the top flap and 10 inches long. Canadian made and dated 1945 but doesn't appear in my P37 research books.

I can only suggest that is may be for a Flare pistol. Anyone with me?

Indeed a holster for the Ingless Browning Hi-Power.
Only, i know this one as the second pattern.
If this is indeed the 3rd pattern, what would then be the first?
It is not the wooden one, because that is a totally different issue.

Thanks for your help on this holster guys.

I couldn't work out why it was so big until I tried it out with a friends 9mm.

He says they were used as "Survival" holsters by Pilots as they held the second magazine. Just his opinion though.
