Early RNZAF service pilot

Haven't shown this one in any detail before, so I thought since I had the frame apart I'd do some photography! Here is an early RNZAF Service Pilot's wing. Hand made and padded with a rough cotton. I had one chap remark to me that it looks like a "Toronto Style" Wing!

Hi Mike,

Very nice wing, I have a couple like it but not quite so padded as your one and paper backed. I do have a similar one on a named WO Pilots issued SD which I think is a little unusual as most WO Pilots SD's were private issued and with much higher quality wings

These early types do not come up often even here in New Zealand. Thanks for showing.

Thanks Greg. I agree, they don't come up often......quite frankly I'm finding it increasingly difficult to find good quality wings anymore
