who wore this belt?

Hi all just bought a load of stuff from a loft clearance mainly cavalry amongst the items was this belt which is 5 inches wide anyone know who would have worn it? Thanks Roger

I believe it is what's referred to by British cavalry/armoured units as a 'stable belt'. They come in various colours - often 3 horizontal bands - for various units. Check this site for pictures of many of them:http://www.stablebelts.co.uk/

It may be for the Royal Military Police - theirs appears to be solid red. [Several other units from Lancashire wear a purple-red belt].
