Hello, here is a baionnette nail of the manufacturer Savage. Normally S is in a square, here it is not in a square, why? Production debut of the firm, or a production after war?

Your bayonet is made by the firm of J. Stevens,they had boxed and unboxed squared S markings,more than likely made after 13th March due to the lengthened front of the socket.
