    3-hole s.a. Helm or postwar?

I THINK THIS IS LATE WAR, THO NOT - DESPITE THE NECK SHIELD HOLES - SOUTH AFRICAN.

ALSO, IT HAD BEEN PAINTED LIGHT GREEN AT ONE POINT THEN OVERPAINTED THIS O.D COLOR - OR MAYBE THAT'S JUST PRIMER? NO MARKS I CAN FIND AND NO SPRINGS IN THE VERY BASIC ELASTIC C'STRAP. (MAYBE CONVERTED FROM AIR WARDEN?) under the top screw nut is a disc of leather; some3 of these were paper or rubber, right.... ? AND THE SUSPENSION'S MISSING THE THICK FOAM RUBBER....

BE USEFUL TO KNOW IF IT REALLY IS WWII OR POSTWAR ANYHOW.

HOPE EXPERTS CAN HELP - THANKS !

The liner is of Dutch fabrication.
Seems a re-issued helmet to the Dutch BB.

          thanks haplo!

          is this a wartime reissue?
          what's the bb?
and does this helm have other than curiosity value?

          best, david.

            Bescherming Burgerbevolking = Civil Defense.

              What Luc said.

These helmets are rather common here and go in a price range from 10 to 25 euro's.
When the shell is ww2 fabrication it will have the usual markings in it.
When of Dutch fabrication it will be something like VB56.
