A couple of British items from Operation Dragoon

I was given these two items last year by someone living on the landing zones of Operation Dragoon in southern France. It is rather rare to find British items here, as the 2nd Independent Parachute Brigade onlw stayed here for about a week before leaving.
These two items were obviously abandonned by some paratroopers are glider troops as soon as they landed.

    Cheers

Very nice Jean-Loup, thank you for posting them. Are there any markings on the life belt?

Yes, there is a marking on the life belt, see below.
I was told that this is not a paratrooper life belt, but a navy life belt. However, considering the area were this was picked up and the fact that no British seaborn forces participated in the southern France landing, it is quite obvious that this must also have been issued to paratrooper/glider troops.

I was looking at my copy of De Trez's 'First Airborn Task Force' last night and noticed a very similar model of life belt pictured!
