More on Arm'd Bde signs

Sorry to have to say this but both books contain errors, though I woundn't get rid of my copy of either. The black diablo, alone or on a red and yellow shield, is the sign of 25 Arm'd Bde and the "red devil" is the final pattern sign of 21 Arm'd Bde (there never was a 16 Arm'd Bde).

It figures - Rosignelli's useful as a guide, but his works always strike me as being rather like the old Funcken napoleonic books - accurate detail takes second place to getting the book completed. Lots of pretty colourful pictures though. I had assumed that Rosignelli got his info from Cole's book. So where's the fictitious 16th Arm'd Bde come from then?
