    Please post a good close up picture of the stampings, taken straight from above and letters running horizontally. Also, is the WD stamp present? If not did you do the wet test?

            Vic, a few observations:

            The first i in Limited is higher than the m;
            There´s quite a gap between the second i and the t;
            The middle horizontal line of the e in Limited is off-centre.

            I can find no other pictures of good Kangol berets with the same features.

            Also, the W looks unusually wide at the top.

            I´m looking forward to see the results of the spray test.

            Luc

              mmmm

              I can only agree with Luc,Limited looks like it has been written in by hand,I have checked my berets out and they look nothing like that. I would never dis a beret that I cannot see in hand as feel is important too,along with smell of course. The jury remains out for me.
              Regards,Ivan

                Sorry Vic but I do not care for the markings on your beret. One I would avoid to be honest.

                  I am afraid Luc has a point,the stamp does not look right on closer inspection of this picture.The spaces between the words are to big ,bringing the words closer to the daimond aswell.Is the capbadge silverd or white metal?

                    Hi Vic,

                    I have send you a mail whit a good picture of a kangol stamp.
                    Compare the letters whit your letters inside the beret and you will see that your beret is possibly not good.
                    Sorry

                    Ruud

                      Thanks for all the opinions.
                      I bought the beret from L. C., Old Smeely at the WAF. I bought it at ebay together with a Ox&Bucks battledress that I returned to him as I did not like it. I paid for the beret 1500 euros as the seller does not want to sell only the beret and I had to pay that amount for get the beret.
                      I still have the mail in which I got the set from ebay.
                      I have visited Pegasus bridge 3 years and always admired the coup de main force, so that I had to own that beret!
                      Now my colelcting interest has changed and I will let go the beret and my complete para mannequin.
                      Thanks for your opinions...I will do the spray test, but if the consensus is that is not good, I will claim the money return as is fair.
                      Really I did never expected that beret would be not good.
                      I have to say that beret in appearance, some few mothed and smell seems good and is very very nice...
                      We will see...
                      thanks!

                            I have just examined it again and is a perfect Kangol beret!..at least it seems!
                            Some water on it...

                              You will have to put more water on it for this to work,Vic.
