I`m told that they were not made during the war. So till 1940 and again from 1945. Can anyone confirm this?

I have 1940, 1944 and one which looks like 1941 but is very dirty. I think they must have made T0S throughout the war, with the amount of new recruits they would run out of hats

When i look at WW2 pictures i see a lot of TAMs. It looked to me very strange that they where not made during WW2.
