A fellow member with out his camera at the moment has asked me to see if we can establish which WW1 British unit may have used this pack board system, medics, artillery, general stores etc. Or were they just a common carry all.
The webb straps are marked MEC 1919. It also has a couple of leather straps, almost German in production/appearance.
It came with this other large strap that has a fastener at one end, but I think that may be much later in production.
