    1941 Canadian Made SIDCOT

Been a little quiet here airforce wise (aside from Gary's excellent RCAF tunic) so I thought I'd post this....I've never seen another Canadian Made example although i'm sure there's lots out there. It's a 1941 dated RCAF Sidcot Flying suit unwired. Made in light blue instead of beige canvas like it's British counterparts. Aside from that it's the same as the brit version, with the Teddy Bear pockets, detachable collar (which I'm missing ), rear belt and Lightning marked Zippers with pull tags. Reputedly once worn by Squadron Leader Georges Albert Roy DFC. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks Gary, I know what you mean about finding a suit in good condition. Every one I've seen lately has been old and musty.....mould spots etc....and rips and tears. Also, I've only ever seen the brownish beige ones, never blue (aside from this one)....and they were ridiculously priced!

Yep not a very common item and for good reason.

Was widely used in Canada by the BCATP and when it wound down this was an item that did not have to returned to central stores and could be disposed of locally.

Local farmers and outside workers loved them so they where quickly used up after the war.
