And money well spent too, for someone who obviously had a death wish! A GM is one thing, but to have a GC to stop it becoming lonely is something else entirely. Apparently, the medal group has got some cultural padlock on it to prevent the likes of me acquiring it! (Yeah... right!)

      Hi there-
I am assuming you are talking about this GC, GM group:

An absolute stunner and well out of my price range .

If you want to have a look at the entire auction catalogue, follow this link:

They also had some other good stuff including an Albert Medal that went for 6050 AUSD! Is it me or is that a bit low (~£ 2500), I have lost touch with these, but they do not come out often that's for sure.
      All the best

        A bit low

        Hello Jim,
yes I got the Albert in case. Its not named as it was a sample that was sent to an Australian firm to produce the cases as well as an VC and some other medals and cases. It a very classey award in the case in real life.

          Hi Jack-
Wow, great purchase! So what is the connection? Did Australian firms produce AMs, or did they produce only the cases? And the cases, where they produced for all AMs? I know little about these awards, enlightenement would be bliss (a bit of theatre here ). All the best

Very nice acquisition Jack. And certainly worthy of a scan here on this most illustrious of forums. Plus, we haven't had one up before.

Oh yummy! Not many of these beasties around. Any chance of a reverse shot. Who's it to, and what act of insanity did he commit to warrant its award?
