    British Ghouli Chit

    Hi guys;
    This paper work was given to me by a WWII British pilot that flew in the China, Burma, India theater during the war. With a letter explaining what it was. It is equivalent to the blood chit worn on the American leather flight jacket.
    Ghoulis is a word used for gonads during that period by the Brits. It was a common custom in these areas to castrate male strangers so that forien mixed blood babies did not pop up.

                      Once met a guy here at a show talking about "Blood S hits"... I thought he had a medical problem until Irealised he meant chits.

                        I picked up an identical chit for a few pounds some months ago in a shop in Britain, can't remember the serial no., it appears genuine with suitable wear & sweat stains.

                          Goolie Chits

                          Goolie Chits are still issued for wartime ops, along with gold sovereigns - "Please do not cut off this airman's knackers, as he's very valuable to us. So valuable, in fact, that here's some gold - and there's more if you give him back in one piece!"

                          (Or words to that effect)

                            Suppose you'd call them nadger notes or Scote sovs, plenty of scope there with the different currencies. Andy McNab mentions the sovereigns in "Bravo 10/16".

                            Just noticed I mistakenly called McNabs book by the wrong name, tho' Bravo 10/16 is what I do usually refer to it as, it's just not what I intended to type.

                            10/16 is a now obsolete police radio term meaning "help I'm in big trouble".
