    30 asu

Has anyone heard of a W II British unit called the 30 ASU? If yes, what can you tell me about it?

Neat looking Uniform. Not at all sure about 30 ASU, being Navy could it be for Anti Submarine Unit? But then there are the Paratrooper Jump Wings? Hopefully someone will come up with the answers, certainly very interesting. Regards, Clive.

I've heard of 30 AU! They were 30 Commando. The display of insignia you have shown is correct for this unit. Turn to page 61 of Commando Chuchill's 'Hand of Steel'

Can you tell us who the original owner was?

3O Commando was " reactivated " this year with UKLFCSG being renamed 30 Cdo RM. Rather nice touch I thought. Nearly all the guys at this unit are commando trained and the unit has been on many ops.
