PLEASE HELP with WWI Officers tunic

I would like to request help in identifying the regiment of thid early WWI British officers tunic, also what does the single bar indicate above the cuff rank (overseas service possibly)? Thanks to everyone in advance for their help.

I think its the Leicestershire regiment , any name labels inside the pockets . I think the strip is a wound stripe if its just a brass strip . Where did you find it ? Rob

Thank you very much Rob, for the tip on the regiment. Indeed this is the regiment, they ahd a fascinating history going back to service here in North America, both during the French and Indian War and the American Revolution. Their WWI service included: France, Flanders, Mesopotamia, and Palastine.

I have found no labels in the tunic, nor any traces of labels removed. The tunic is a very heavy 'whipcord-type' material. The tunic came out of a very old collection, and has not seen the light of day in probably 30-40 years. Where it originated initialy, that information is gone to the winds of time.

The bar is not metalic, but of some sort of bullion/cord embroidery.

The bar is to denote a wound received in action. Labels are usually in the collar or inside pockets but sometimes the tailors labels in these tunics can be in odd places, under pocket flaps or inside pockets. Nice tunic.

A very nice ww1 era tunic to a 2nd Lt. in the Leicestershire Regiment. Dont be surprised if there is no label inside. Sometimes they were never present to begin with and sometimes they were removed for various reasons.
Does not really matter much as it remains an excellent example of this type of tunic on its own merit.
