    RAF Bugle??

Hello, I pick this Bugle up from the Bay for $10 and I was wondering if anyone can give me anymore information on it? I am guessing that it is RAF but I am not sure. It is stamp London 1943.

Never seen anything like it.....it appears to simply be a bugle with a Warrant Officer's cap badge added. I have one with an Ontario rgt. cap badge soldered on rather crudely

Sometimes a bugle is just a bugle.

The RARR did have a Bugle corps at one time as did many other establishments.

As well drummers in RAF pipe bands wear them.

Nothing that I can recall that was specific to the RAF and the bugle. Used for the normal military customs, Last Post, Sunset, General salute etc. The RAF have their own version of some of the more common ones RAF Call, Officers Dinner,

RAF Advance was traditionally sounded when a NEW type of Aircraft is brought on squadron. They may have some other traditions as well

        Nice item none the less.

here is a site with most on line

        http://www.farmersboys.com/MAIN/Bugles_Calls.htm

as well John Yates has recorded most of them on a CD.

your can hear some if it here
