    Faded Labels

I have what I believe to be a 2nd pattern WWII British airborne smock. Cuffs have been added and the ape tail cut off The label is too faded to read. Is there a way to bring out the writing on the label or would a black light help?

It is a 1st pattern smock so dated 1942 or 1943.

Hmmm, i dont like the cufs and collar. Could be the light, natural daylight might help.

Cuffs have been replaced, the originals probably eaten by moth.Inside of the collar seems okay.It looks to be a size 3.Even with its faults I like these smaller sizes.Sure goes great with the 1942 beret you have or has it been sold?

It's an odd one and it shows a number of details that are unusual like the width of the monkey tail. I'd love to see some better pictures; at this point I'm not convinced it is an original smock.

Yes I still have the 1942 beret. I had an a deal for 2500 GBP, but the guy disappeared?

I will post some better pictures. My original question was if there was a way to see what was printed on a faded label so I was not focusing on the picts of the smock. I'm sure the cuffs have been replaced.

He probably came to his senses, allthough rare 2500 gpb is a bit out there.

Please post some more pics of the Denison,I would be surprised if it would turn out to be a repro.

                regards Johan
