I'd go for very early post WW2 by the rounded chape on the end of the scabbard.

Does have a #3 on the pommel area

After looking more closely ..It does have a #3 ?? What would be its value if I posted it to the WAF Table ..Any ideas ..Brent

I think it is the late war 3rd pattern that no longer had the handground blade and proper scabbard. Irv is the man to ask (britpc).

Original WW2 made third pattern. It is late war as disscussed, and one of the exported knives to the US after the war shown by the 'ENGLAND' stamp on the crossguard.
The scabbard is also original to the knife as shown by the hollow rivets and narrow elastic.

If the crossguard has a thickness of 1/8 inch or 3.1 mm it is ww2, post war cross guards have 3/32 inch 2.3 mm thickness.
No 1,2,3 or 4 on the hilt also indicate ww2 production.
