By the look f the chinstrap lugs I would say the helmet shell looks Canadian. If that's the case I think the British liner was added to complete the helmet.

Yeah, I made the same mistake with a WWI lid on a thread a few weeks ago - can't get it out of my head that RAMC is maroon & blue...........
