Unit? - R.A.S.C. - is it Royal Army Service Corps?
Owner's name was E.Forsythe

Rank is WO II (Warrant Officer Class II) in the Royal Army Service Corps which you guessed. WO II is usually a Company Sgt. Major or Company Quartermaster Sgt. Someone else on here will explain about the s/ before his number as I forget for the moment and too lazy to look up.
