Sten Mk II (Canadian)

Hello everyone,

I just came into possession of a Sten Gun Mk II. I didn't know much about the weapon when I got it, but after a bit of research I determined it was made in Canada (probably Long Branch), pre-April 1942.

I'm attaching several photos. Could anyone tell me more about it/verify what I said? If anyone know too, could I have a valuation of the gun - I'm not selling it, I'm just curious what the market price is.

As far as the person who gave me this gun knows, it fires as it did in 1942 when it was manufactured.

Classic example of the Canadian MK II produced by Line Brothers Ltd in Long Branch along with subcontractors. Has a special catch that allows you to partially withdraw the magazine and rotate the housing 90 degrees to lay the weapon on its side. Used skeleton stock instead of the strut type and also had wooden stocks fitted. Over 2 million made, first used in the Dieppe Raid in 1942. Don't know the value but there is a MK III for sale right now listed at $6,950 US.

Hopefully you have it papered as a legal SMG? It looks like a nice piece.

Does anyone know when they started making the 'loop' stock as opposed to the T stock?
