    Are both patches genuine?

May I ask you for help?
One of these 1st Commando Brigade patches is genuine, I have been told. My question is: Are both genuine?

What's the texture of the black material on the back? Is it bonded to the blue material?

Thank you for being so kind to help me!
It is connected by stitching at least. Maybe bounded in another way also. It's difficult to say. It is about the same for both the real patch and the other.
        Please see these new pictures.

The black backing material looks almost rubberised which isn't a good sign. Have you tried a burn-test on the white bobbon treads? They look like nylon/polyester from the way they fray.

Here is another picture with a burnt thread. It tends to melt.

Nylon/polyester it is then. Natural fibres like cotton/wool/silk don't melt, they burn like a candle wick.
