    hello jerry .

    i am no expert but the helmet shell you have there with the split rivit chin strap fixings looks like my ww1 brodie .

    any more experts out there to confirm ww1 ??

        Your helmet is british MkI, without the rim.

          You think it's a mkI, and it's rim trim strip is missing?
          I cannot find any markings impressed in the metal.

            Yes, I think that.
            Popularly: Brodie = MkI = trench helmet = tommy helmet
            This helmet was modified: typical Brodie 1915y, MkI 1916 and MkI 1917
